Carbon Aerosol Analysis Field Instrument

   

The newest entry in line of OCEC analyzers incorporates the latest in electronic and optical developments along with an optimized oven and detector design for sensitive, reliable field operation.

A new continuous-flow non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) detector system allows this third generation field instrument to be operated using only two support gases (OpticalEC/TC mode). Gas consumption is dramatically reduced by computer controlled mass flow controllers. Gases are only consumed during the analysis modes and conserved during sampling. The temperature stabilized NDIR system has its own RISC processor for enhanced sensitivity, linearity and long term stability. Reduced analysis times maximize on-line sample collection times. The enhanced time-resolution capability of this new instrument is possible by a rapid thermal TC measurement and a laser-based absorbance technique to measure EC.
